The Glendora Tartans entered their tilt with the Oak Hills Bulldogs with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Glendora snuck past Oak Hills with a 46-40 victory on Saturday. Given Glendora's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Oak Hills is ranked 162nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glendora was led to victory by Rylie Anderson and Ronnie Herrmann. Anderson scored 19 points, while Herrmann scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Herrmann is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Martin, who scored two points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Glendora pushed their record up to 22-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Oak Hills, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glendora and Claremont will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Claremont will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Oak Hills, they will head out on the road to square off against Sultana at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sultana is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
