Two dominant players in Leyla Minor and Madison McKenzie are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Norview Pilots will get right back to it and host the Gainesville Cardinals at 9:00 p.m. on December 29th. Norview will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Norview has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season. They blew past South Bronx Prep 54-34.
Kiyah Fitchett was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with seven steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Christful, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Gainesville faced Deep Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Gainesville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Deep Creek 50-48. Winning may never get old, but Gainesville sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Norview now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Gainesville, their win bumped their record up to 10-0-1.
