Iroquois/Lake Preston waltzed into their contest  on Friday with five straight wins  but they left with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a  38-36  victory over Hitchcock-Tulare. Despite the  win, that was the fewest points Iroquois/Lake Preston has scored all year.
 Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Cambree Hoekman, who  scored 13 points along with three  steals. That was a full 36.1% of Hitchcock-Tulare's points, marking the third time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was  Katelyn Schroeder, who  scored 12 points along with five  rebounds.
 Even though they lost, Hitchcock-Tulare  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 15  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Iroquois/Lake Preston's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they are  on a three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-7.
 Iroquois/Lake Preston on the road again  on Tuesday and play against Sanborn Central/Woonsocket at 6:30  p.m.  on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in South Dakota (Sanborn Central/Woonsocket is ranked 38th, while Iroquois/Lake Preston is ranked 55th). As for Hitchcock-Tulare, they will take on Wolsey-Wessington at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
