Softball Recap: Kearney Catholic Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Kearney Catholic waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Chase County Longhorns as they made off with a 16-0 victory. Considering the Stars have won 18 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kearney Catholic got a massive performance out of Ashley Green, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Green a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raegan Ruyle, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Kearney Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive games.

Kearney Catholic's record is now 21-5. As for Chase County, their loss was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

Kearney Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-3 win against Southern Valley/Alma on the 30th. As for Chase County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-0 defeat against Cozad on the 2nd.
