Having just played yesterday, the Central Falls Warriors will get right back to it and host the Middletown Islanders at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Monday, Central Falls was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-36 to the Northmen. Central Falls has not had much luck with the Northmen recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Middletown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Monday after their 15th straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to Pilgrim.
Despite the loss, Middletown had strong showings from Ella Bolano, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Lamaya Gonsalves, who scored 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gonsalves has scored all season.
Even though they lost, Middletown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Central Falls' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Middletown, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15.
Central Falls beat the Islanders 39-27 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Central Falls repeat their success, or do the Islanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
