Winder-Barrow Gets a Boost from Dowdy in 27-10 Defeat
Starting off the list is Winder-Barrow's Demetrius "Mj" Dowdy, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Dowdy picked up 138 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 153 yards while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 98 yards.
Winder-Barrow moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Dowdy and Winder-Barrow will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Clarke Central at 7:30 p.m. on November 1st.

Josh Mendoza and Co. Win Third in a Row
Josh Mendoza was instrumental in extending Jackson County's winning streak to three on Friday. Mendoza was dynamite, picking up three sacks, forcing two fumbles, and making nine total tackles (4.0 for loss).
On the season, Mendoza has averaged 5.8 total tackles per game and for the season has 5 sacks. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had three sacks.

A Season-Best Performance from Favian Williford Leads Apalachee over Alcovy
On Friday, Apalachee had to settle for second even though Favian Williford put up the best numbers he has all season. Williford rushed for 219 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.
Williford will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Habersham Central on Friday. The match will pit Williford up against the Raiders' star running back Donnie Warren. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

Goddard Made His Presence Known in Alcovy's 21-10 Victory
Ayden Goddard posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
With the win, Alcovy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6. Goddard and Alcovy will challenge Clarke Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Daylan Maxwell Delivers Electric Performance Vs Winder-Barrow
Another Jackson County player making an appearance on this list is Daylan Maxwell. He rushed for 163 yards.
