Last Friday, Pleasant Grove humbled Orem with a 61-30 victory. With that victory, Pleasant Grove brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.
Among those leading the charge was Amber Cook, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. MaKayla Boyer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Cedar Valley entered their tilt with Mountain View with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cedar Valley simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Mountain View 74-43 at home. Given Cedar Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Mountain View is ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cedar Valley found their leader in underclassman Hadley Whiting, who scored 16 points along with 8 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Larson, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals.
The win got Pleasant Grove back to even at 2-2. As for Cedar Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Pleasant Grove hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 50.5 points per game.
