Albertus Magnus had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Irvington on Monday. The Falcons blew past the Bulldogs 14-3. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Sean McGuinness was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Albertus Magnus is undefeated when McGuinness posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tyler Wein, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Albertus Magnus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win (which was Albertus Magnus' fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Irvington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
