Guymon is 0-10 against Carl Albert since May of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. Guymon will venture away from home to face off against Carl Albert at 2:00 p.m. Guymon will be strutting in after a win while Carl Albert will be coming in after a loss.
If Guymon beats Carl Albert with 17 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Guymon beat Balko on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 17-2. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by ten runs or more this season.

Drazen Romero made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Romero was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Guymon is undefeated when Romero posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Guymon let Angelo Carrasco and Andres Ozaeta run wild. Carrasco went 3-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one run, while Ozaeta scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Ozaeta has become a key player for Guymon: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Isaac Sandoval, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Guymon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Carl Albert's offense. They came up short against Collinsville on Saturday, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Titans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
The victory made it two in a row for Guymon and bumps their season record up to 4-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Carl Albert, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Guymon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .571. However, it's not like Carl Albert struggles in that department as they've averaged .586. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Guymon might still be hurting after the 21-2 loss they got from Carl Albert when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Guymon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
