Softball Recap: Conway Has No Trouble Against Socastee

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. James, Conway was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Socastee Braves. The match marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season.

Olivia Drew was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Drew was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, McKenzie Rabon and Meredith Thompson did most of the damage at the plate: Rabon went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Thompson went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Rabon has posted since back in March.

With the victory, Conway broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-7. As for Socastee, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-19.

Conway will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Braves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
