Chatfield hasn't had much luck against Valor Christian recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Chatfield Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Valor Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Chatfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.2 points per game this season.
Having struggled with six losses in a row, Chatfield turned things around against Dakota Ridge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 63-24. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Chargers have posted since February 14, 2024.

Chatfield found their leader in sophomore Sadie Goodwin, who went 9 for 15 on her way to 23 points and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goodwin has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Lynch, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Valor Christian faced Broomfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Valor Christian strolled past Broomfield with points to spare, taking the game 79-62. Valor Christian's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Chatfield better keep an eye on Peyton Jones. She was instrumental in Valor Christian's win, going 9 of 14 from beyond the arc on her way to 45 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn VanSickle, who posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and four steals.
The victory (which was Valor Christian's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Chatfield, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Chatfield has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Valor Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Chatfield took a serious blow against Valor Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 80-38. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Chatfield was down 43-16.
