The Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars were the 48-39 winner over the May River Sharks when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Ridgeland-Hardeeville took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of May River on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Ridgeland-Hardeeville had strong showings from Jaden Exley, who scored 13 points, and Denasia Haynes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The match was Exley's third in a row with at least ten points.
May River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Dalton led the charge by scoring 11 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Duncan, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for May River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville will head out on the road to face off against Allendale-Fairfax at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Allendale-Fairfax will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for May River, they will play host again and welcome Beaufort Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on December 21st.
