The Westbrook Blue Blazes will head out on the road to face off against the Windham Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Westbrook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Westbrook didn't have too much trouble with Kennebunk at home as they won 50-31. That looming 50-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Westbrook yet this season.
Westbrook can attribute much of their success to Kylie Young , who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, and Taylar Hodge , who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hodge set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Another player making a difference was Audrey Doolittle, who scored six points along with three steals and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Windham's five-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 69-34 win over Bonny Eagle. The win was just what Windham needed coming off of a 51-31 defeat in their prior match.
The victory makes it two in a row for Westbrook and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Windham, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
Westbrook came up short against Windham in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, falling 45-38. Can Westbrook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
