Softball Recap: St. Joseph Has No Trouble Against Victoria East

While St. Joseph put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Victoria East. The St. Joseph Flyers were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over the Victoria East Titans. The Flyers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Ava Martinez and Elizabeth Arnecke did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Arnecke scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, Arnecke posted three RBI, the most she's had over her last ten contests. Another player making a difference was Gianna Morris, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Joseph and bumps their season record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Victoria East, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

St. Joseph will be playing at home against Santa Gertrudis Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Victoria East, they will head out to face off against Randle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victoria East is facing Randle at the right time seeing as Randle is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
