The losing side was boosted by Alyssa Briggs, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played. Gabby Pressnall was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Mill Springs Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success back in January. They claimed a resounding 43-2 victory over Tapestry Charter at home. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Mill Springs Academy with their most commanding win of the season.
Amari Jones and Daryn Asrael were among the main playmakers for Mill Springs Academy as the former scored 13 points and the latter scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Asrael scored 15 or more points.
Cottage's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-7. As for Mill Springs Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Monday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Cottage have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Mill Springs Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 6.8 rebounds per game. Given Cottage's sizable advantage in that area, Mill Springs Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
