Mexico extended their winning streak to six on Monday, bumping their season record up to 21-11 in the process. They didn't even let the Marshall Owls on the board, marking the Bulldogs' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Sam Ryan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Drew DeMint, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Chance McCarty was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Mexico always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshall only posted an OBP of .118.

As for Marshall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since May 7, 2024.

On Marshall's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Kirchhoff, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Kirchhoff has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Looking ahead, Mexico will challenge Lafayette at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marshall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Moberly at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
