Basketball Recap: Ware Shoals Takes a Loss

Ware Shoals played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 69-37 loss at the hands of the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes. The Hornets have struggled against the Blue Flashes recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Ware Shoals saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Stella Eichhorn dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 boards. Eichhorn is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brooke Crockett, who posted eight points.

Calhoun Falls Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Autumn Thomas out in front who had 32 points and four steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least a third of Calhoun Falls Charter's points. Alexis Sanders was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards.

Ware Shoals' loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
