The South Johnston Trojans won the last time they faced the West Johnston Wildcats, and things went their way on Friday too. South Johnston took down West Johnston 25-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Johnston.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Johnston to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Williams, who rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown. Williams was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Riley Adams was another key contributor, rushing for 45 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was South Johnston's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Kelvin Fitts and his two sacks.
South Johnston's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-5. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 19.67 points. As for West Johnston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
South Johnston will head out on the road to face off against Currituck County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Currituck County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 231 points over their last five matchups. West Johnston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
