The St. Anne Catholic Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to NorthPoint Christian Academy on the road by a decisive 56-40 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Anne Catholic in their matchups with NorthPoint Christian Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
NorthPoint Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Talan Pollack, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 20 rebounds. Pollack set a new season high mark in assists with five. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Skinner, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
St. Anne Catholic bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for NorthPoint Christian Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anne Catholic will take on Jackson Day at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. NorthPoint Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lab University Prep Regional at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Lab University Prep Regional is ranked 443rd, while NorthPoint Christian Academy is ranked 464th).
