The Comenius Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell just short of New Hope Leadership Academy by a score of 70-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Hope Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sugar Eaton, who scored 33 points. Eaton hasn't dropped below 22 points for six straight games. Trey Hampton was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Comenius has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season. As for New Hope Leadership Academy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Comenius will be playing at home against the Kings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. HA Prep Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for New Hope Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Providence Athletic Club and the Gladiators are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
