Berea hasn't had much luck against Blue Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Fighting Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Berea took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Greer, sneaking past 4-3.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge entered their tilt with Daniel on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Fighting Tigers have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kilee Grant tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bella Sands and Lily Mulkey did most of the damage at the plate: Sands went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Mulkey went 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs Mulkey has posted since back in April of 2024. Hannah Durham was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Blue Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 11-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Blue Ridge's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Berea, their win bumped their record up to 9-10-1.
