It was an incredible run to end the season for the state's top-ranked team. Pickerington Central got revenge from an early season loss to Groveport-Madison, then knocked off undefeated Mentor and wrapped it up beating Elder 21-14 for the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I state football championship.
The lone undefeated team in the final Ohio high school football Top 50 is Kirtland. The Hornets are one of the nation's top small school programs going 15-0 after beating Ironton 17-7. Kirtland has now won back-to-back OHSAA state championships.
