Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 60-29 victory over the Prairie Central Hawks. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Prairie Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayla Hammond posted 14 points and six rebounds. What's more, Hammond also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points over those games. As for Prairie Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-20.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-50 victory against Tri-Valley on the 13th. As for Prairie Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 43-36 win against Herscher on the 15th.
