Gabe Smith put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Tuesday. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Coastal HomeSchool is 5-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-5 otherwise.

Coming up, Smith and Coastal HomeSchool will venture away from home to take on Beaufort Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hurricanes got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Eagles thanks in part to Smith: he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
