The Wichita County Indians put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Kiowa County, posting a 54-0 victory at home. Fans of Wichita County have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Wichita County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Gardner out in front who threw for 167 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. Cashton Young was another key contributor, gaining 136 total yards and four touchdowns.
Wichita County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Christopher Michel.
Wichita County's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Kiowa County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Wichita County will square off against Clifton-Clyde at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clifton-Clyde knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Wichita County likes a good challenge.
