The Eastern Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Oak Hill Oaks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
Eastern is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Symmes Valley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 11-1.
Eastern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braelyn Bevins, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Oak Hill never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against South Gallia on Monday. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 15-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Oaks in their matchups with the Rebels: they've now won four in a row.
Brynlee Stickley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ellie McCarty was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Miley Morgan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Eastern, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 10-6.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eastern hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. However, it's not like Oak Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .335. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Eastern took their victory against Oak Hill in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Oaks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
