Fieldcrest extended their losing streak  (dating back to last season) to 14  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They lost  17-0 to the Heyworth Hornets. The Knights were not able to make up for their  defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.
As for Heyworth, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record  this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
For Heyworth's part,  Gabby Dow was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. What's more,  Dow posted five  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in April. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Natalie Kopp was a standout: she got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted  over her last eight  matchups. Another player making a difference was  Grace Streenz, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
