The North Sanpete Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The contest between North Sanpete and Carbon wasn't particularly close, with North Sanpete falling 80-62. North Sanpete was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carbon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
North Sanpete's loss came despite strong showings from Cole Cook and Dimick Huntington. Cook scored 18 points along with six rebounds, while Huntington scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Huntington has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of McKay Schlappi, who scored six points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Kahner Raby, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds for Carbon. Raby continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Warburton, who scored 13 points.
North Sanpete's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-10. As for Carbon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
North Sanpete will be playing in front of their home fans against Canyon View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carbon, they will head out on the road to square off against Juab at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Juab focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
