While Memorial's win against Cypress Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cougars 9-7. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won eight in a row.

Memorial got a massive performance out of Sophie Vlasak, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Vlasak is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Parker Nelson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Vlasak wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Memorial lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cypress Creek didn't launched any home runs.

Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Cypress Creek, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-13-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Memorial is set to take on their familiar foe Northbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cypress Creek will square off against rival Cy-Fair at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
