Sotomayor hasn't had much luck against O'Connor recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The WILDCATS will host the Panthers at 5:30 p.m.
On Friday, Sotomayor came up short against Brennan and fell 3-1.
While Sotomayor ultimately came up short, they really made Brennan work, particularly in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 19-25, 25-13, 26-24.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Sydney Ebenstein, who had 11 assists and six digs.
Meanwhile, O'Connor waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
One reason for the win was O'Connor's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 25-8.
O'Connor's win bumped their record up to 30-5. As for Sotomayor, they now have a losing record of 16-17.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Sotomayor has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.3 aces per game. However, it's not like O'Connor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Sotomayor suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to O'Connor in their previous meeting back in August. Will the WILDCATS have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more volleyball content.
