Max Zuniga was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Zuniga wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Roth, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits Roth has posted since back in March. Matthew Lozano also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Washington Union has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hanford West, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.
