The Loyalton Grizzlies can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-5 win over Westwood on the road. That 50 points margin sets a new team best for Loyalton this season.
Loyalton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sophie Holland out in front who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds. Holland is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Catherine Petterson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
The victory (which was Loyalton's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Westwood, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loyalton will take on Virginia City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Virginia City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Westwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paradise Adventist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paradise Adventist Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
