Virginia Episcopal School hadn't done well against Carlisle recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bishops were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Chiefs. Considering the Bishops have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Nash Watson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Virginia Episcopal School's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jaxon Godsie, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Lawrence Dempsey was another, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Virginia Episcopal School is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Carlisle, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-5 record.
