The Norco Cougars posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-65 win over Corona. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Norco's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthew Mendias led the charge by scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was Kameron Brown, who scored 18 points.
Norco pushed their record up to 13-10 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.0 points per game. As for Corona, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6.
Norco will take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Corona, they will head out on the road to square off against King at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
