The Webb Schools Gauls had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 60-30 victory over Centennial. The win was just what The Webb Schools needed coming off of a 53-29 loss in their prior matchup.
Leading The Webb Schools to victory were Pristine Thomas and Xajani Badkar. Thomas dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Badkar dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Badkar has scored at least 25% of The Webb Schools' points. Geniya Parker was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
The Webb Schools' win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Webb Schools will take on Rio Hondo Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rio Hondo Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday. As for Centennial, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Bellflower at 4:30 p.m. Bellflower is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
