This season hasn't been kind to the Yulee Hornets, who are still winless after their fourth match. They were the victim of a tough 56-36 defeat at the hands of Bishop Snyder on Thursday. Yulee found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 13 fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Yulee saw an underclassman step up: Rheyna Hilton dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds. Hilton scored a full 33.3% of Yulee's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Reid, who scored 9 points.
Asya Jones was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals for Bishop Snyder. The matchup was Jones' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Melanni McLeod, who scored 11 points along with 6 steals.
Yulee's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bishop Snyder, they have yet to lose a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 3-2 record.
Yulee will be playing at home against Harvest Community at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Snyder will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Parker at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st.
