The Liberty Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Casa Grande Gauchos at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
For the first time since back in January, Liberty was forced to settle for a draw on Friday. They and Heritage finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile, Casa Grande has not lost a match since December 20, 2023, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They came out on top against Napa by a score of 3-1. Given Casa Grande's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Napa is ranked 678th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Casa Grande was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Sammy Coopersmith and
Alfanso Torres Maldonado, who scored all three of Casa Grande's goals. The pair have combined for a total of eight so far this season.
Liberty's draw makes their record 7-4-3 this season. As for Casa Grande, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3-4 record this season.
