It was a good run, but the Canyon View Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 58-41 to Emery. If Canyon View was looking for revenge after losing 67-54 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
When it comes to explaining why Canyon View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brooklyn Davie. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davie has scored all season. Bethanee Vargas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Emery's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenadie Maughan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Aliya Lester, who scored 15 points.
Canyon View's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Emery, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Canyon View will be playing at home against the Rabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Delta has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. Emery's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Dinos at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Carbon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
