The Bath County Chargers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They had to suffer through a rough 86-55 loss at the hands of Parry McCluer. While losing is never fun, Bath County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while the Fighting Blues are ranked 142nd).
Bath County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Andrew Turner, who scored 15 points along with six assists, and Frankie Deboe who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Issac Ingram, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bath County now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Parry McCluer, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bath County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Pocahontas County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Parry McCluer, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Rockets at 7:00 p.m.
