Here's a look at developments that shaped this week's Top 25:

Armwood (Seffner, Fla.) joins this week's Xcellent 25 after handing
St. Augustine (Fla.) its first loss of the season in dominant fashion. They clinched a spot in the Florida Class 6A state championship game cruising to a 30-6 win. This will be the school's fourth state title appearance over the last five years and up next is No. 19
Northwestern (Miami).
• No. 1
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) did something it hasn't since 1999 — win a section title. The Monarchs cruised to a 49-24 win against the defending state champs,
St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.).
JT Daniels showed why he is the top rated quarterback from the Class of 2019, throwing for 300 yards and five scores.
Amon-Ra St. Brown finished the night with nearly 200 yards receiving and a score and
Bru McCoy hauled in three touchdown receptions.

It was announced Sunday, the Monarchs will face No. 15
De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) in the CIF Open Division state championship game on Dec. 16 at Sacramento State University. The Spartans are coming off their 26th consecutive North Coast section title after beating
Pittsburg (Calif.) 24-7.
• Mater Dei and De La Salle were two of the eight teams in the Top 25 that won section or state titles.
