The Arizona high school football season comes to a close this weekend with four games, including the Open Division final between Chandler and Saguaro.
The 16th-ranked Wolves face the Sabercats, No. 23 in the MaxPreps Top 25, at 5 p.m. Saturday. Chandler is looking for its
sixth consecutive state title and these two powers met in the inaugural
Open Division championship in 2019 and Chandler won 42-35 as
Dae Dae Hunter rushed for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns.Saguaro foiled a Chandler-Hamilton rematch after beating the Huskies 31-24 in the semifinals behind 204 yards rushing and three TDs from junior
Devin Dampier.
Already crowned champions include:
• Snowflake, a 10-3 winner over Yuma Catholic in the 3A final.
• Arizona Lutheran Academy, a 28-14 winner of Morenci in the 2A championship.
• Mogollon, a 58-12 winner over St. David in the 1A bracket.
