Video: #WeNext with Jalen GreenPlayers like top 2020 prospect could be represented by agent soon.Following recommendations issued in April from the Commission on College Basketball, the NCAA's Board of Governors and Division I Board of Directors announced Wednesday major changes set to be implemented.
Those changes were presented in six categories;
* Flexibility for going pro and getting a degree
* Minimizing harmful outside influences
* More efficient, binding enforcement system
* Stronger accountability, penalties
* Independent investigators and decision-makers
* Adding public voices
Elite prospects like Scottie Lewis of Ranney (N.J.) may represented by agents while still in high school in the near future.

Among the significant developments is giving elite high school basketball recruits the ability to be represented by an agent who can help them make informed decisions about going pro. The agents will have to be certified through the NCAA.
High school basketball prospects will also be given greater flexibility to make campus visits.
In addition, college players that enter the NBA Draft will be allowed to return to school if they go undrafted.
Expect a pretty major shift in the summer/club basketball calendar as early as 2019. The NCAA plans to pursue more rigorous certification requirements to ensure transparency in operations and finances. There will also be an effort to push college coaches to attend more high school-sponsored events.
