With the U.S. Olympic swimming team nearing the Olympics, the
National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association recently released its list
of high school All-Americans.
The lists compile the top 100
performances in each event during the recently completed school year. North Carolina ranked 16th overall nationally in the number of athletes,
while California came in at No. 1 with 750 honorees.
Led by
Logan Heck of Lake Norman and Heather Merritt of Hough, North Carolina had 25 boys All-Americans and 50 girls honorees,
respectively.
