When it comes to identifying winners in the 2015 NBA Draft, buy on Stanley Johnson, Karl-Anthony Towns and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
Beware of
Rashad Vaughn and
Devin Booker.
At least that's what our simplistic approach to picking out the difference-makers in the 2015 draft tells us. We've compiled college and high school win-loss records for over 40 NBA hopefuls who played at both levels in the United States (apologies to Emmanuel Mudiay, who played professionally in China last season).
Johnson, the 2013-14 MaxPreps National Player of the Year, tops the list. The
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and Arizona product has won nearly 95 percent of the time he has taken the floor over the past five years, capturing four California state titles and Pac-12 Conference regular season and tournament titles in the process.
Towns lost just nine times in three seasons at
St. Joseph (Metuchen, N.J.) and bolstered his win percentage as a freshman at Kentucky by helping the Wildcats go 38-1.
A teammate of Johnson's last season at Arizona, Hollis-Jefferson's track record of success is sure to grab the attention of NBA teams in the run up to June 25. The ultra-athletic win man helped
Chester (Pa.) run the table en route to a state title in 2011-12 and was a key contributor for a pair of 30-win teams in Tucson.
