The three-time NBA All-Star saw his nationally-ranked
Garfield (Seattle, Wash.) team fall 58-55 in district tournament play Tuesday night against
Seattle Prep (Seattle).
Kalu Stricklin scored 15 points and
Nikola Trifunovic added 13 to spark the upset for Seattle Prep (15-9), which took Garfield to overtime back in December.
In his rookie season on the sideline, Roy and MaxPreps National Player of the Year Michael Porter Jr. led
Nathan Hale (Seattle) to a 29-0 record en route to state and national titles.
After moving over to his alma mater Garfield this summer, Roy won his first 22 games this season. The Bulldogs beat teams from California and Oregon while climbing to No. 6 in this week's national rankings.
Seattle Prep moves on to meet
Eastside Catholic (Sammamish) on Thursday in the SeaKing district semifinals while Garfield is bounced to the loser's bracket and a Friday meeting with
Cleveland (Seattle).

Despite Tuesday's loss, Garfield will have an opportunity to play on in the postseason.
