Video: Texas QB goes Johnny Football for big-time TD runA prime matchup of MaxPreps Texas Top 25 teams this week has Trinity (Euless) hosting Carroll (Southlake) Friday night at Pennington Field in Bedford.
The two programs represent eight state football championships since 2002, three by Trinity (currently No. 3 in the Texas Top 25) and five by Carroll (No. 15).
A season ago, Carroll ended Trinity's streak of consecutive district victories at 62 with a 10-6 victory at Dragon Stadium.
Despite being located only 12 miles apart, Trinity (7-0) and Carroll (5-1) were grouped in separate districts until being placed in District 7-6A last season.

10. (5) Westfield (Houston) 5-1 Dillon Sterling-Cole ran for a touchdown and threw for another but it was not enough in a 24-19 loss to Klein Collins (Spring).

Mitchell Cason threw for 180 yards and a touchdown in a 23-21 win over Plano West.
12. (11) Manvel 5-1 D'Eriq King threw for 274 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-31 triumph over Dawson (Pearland).
13. (13) Cedar Park 6-0 Jack Grimm ran for three touchdowns in a 51-14 leveling of Leander.
14. (14) Judson (Converse) 7-0 Julon Williams ran for two touchdowns and passed for another in a 34-7 win over New Braunfels.
15. (16) Carroll (Southlake) 5-1Mason Holmes passed for 208 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-21 bashing of Richland (North Richland Hills).
