Marin Catholic (Kentfield, Calif.) grabbed the lead when
Chris Hill kicked a field goal with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
El Cerrito (Calif.) 31-28 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.
The two teams were tied at 14 heading into halftime. The Wildcats took the lead for good on a field goal by Hill in the fourth quarter.
Keilan Benjamin made a difference for the Gauchos. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns.
Marin Catholic's standout player in the win was
Andrew Celis. The junior wide receiver ran for two touchdowns.
El Cerrito came in giving up 7.9 points per game this season.
The loss comes after El Cerrito defeated Analy 40-20 last week.
