Bay Shore faced a major climb when it found itself down, 13-9, with less than 9 minutes left in Sunday's Long Island Class A championship game at Dowling College.
But the Marauders recovered to send it into overtime before claiming a stunning 15-14 victory over Farmingdale.
Kaitlyn Arnold scored the game-winning goal in the first overtime and Bay Shore shut down the Dalers (17-2) the rest of the period and in the second OT frame.
No. 8 Bay Shore had reason to leap andcelebrate against Farmingdale over theweekend.

Bay Shore (19-1) will represent Long Island in the state semifinals vs. Section 3 champion West Genesee on Friday at SUNY Cortland at 2 p.m.
"You can't describe the feeling we have right now," said Bay Shore head coach Allison Pfeffer. "I'm so proud of these girls, they just would not quit. They did not want to give up. They have so much heart, and they just fought back to pull out the win."
Nassau County champion Farmingdale took a 13-9 lead with 8:40 to play on a goal by
Kimberly Kolodny (four goals, one assist). But the Marauders went on a 4-0 run started by Arnold (four goals) and finished by
Caroline Delyra (five goals) with 3:08 left in regulation.
"This is awesome," said senior midfielder deLyra. "Two years ago we lost to this team and we knew we wanted revenge. We took it to them today. We just never gave up and we knew that we had more heart. We knew once we got that first goal off after being down 13-9 that we could get more goals and we could get back in it."
In Class B, Section 8 champ Garden City claimed its eighth-straight Long Island title as
Alexandra Bruno tallied five goals and dished two assists to key an 11-7 victory over Eastport-South Manor. Garden City (15-5) will shoot for a chance at a seventh-straight state title in the semifinals Friday against Section 4 champion Vestal at SUNY Cortland at 2:30 p.m.
The Trojans recovered nicely this year from a midseason stretch that saw them lose four out of five games. They later lost to Manhasset, but have rebounded with five straight wins.
"This is my fourth one and this is the best one yet," said Bruno. "We all came together this year. We struggled a little in the beginning of the season but we did a great job. We pulled through and I'm glad we came out with the win. We talked during pregame and knew we had to come out strong and send a message to the other team."
Catherine McTiernan tallied three goals and one assist for the Trojans while
Catherine Dickinson had two goals and two assists.
Allison Gionta tallied three goals and one assist for Eastport South Manor (15-4).
Shoreham-Wading River claimed the Long Island Class C title by toppling North Shore, 13-10. North Shore's
Amanda Johansen (five goals) helped her team rally from an 8-3 deficit to pull within 11-9, but the 22nd-ranked Wildcats (15-3) held.
"I wasn't nervous," Shoreham-Wading River head coach Mary Bergmann said. "We knew that would happen – (Johansen) had five goals altogether – but she's been averaging six or seven goals.
"We weren't going to just shut her off but we said in the one timeout that we can't give her the ball because at that point she was going to take the ball down the field and do everything she could to win the championship. We just knew if we won the draw controls we could do it."
Paulina Constant and
Alex Fehmel each had three goals and an assist for SWR.

Amanda Currell made 13 saves to lift the Quakers to a 13-8 victory over Mendham for the NJSIAA Group 3 championship. The Quakers advance into the Tournament of Champions semifinals and play Group 1 champion Glen Ridge on Tuesday at Monmouth University at 5 p.m.
3. (3) Bryn Mawr (Baltimore), 16-2The Mawrtians were eliminated by Maryvale Prep in the semifinals of the IAAM tournament. They finished second in the regular season and boasted impressive wins over St. Anthony's (15-7) and Garden City (8-3) in the Maryland-New York Challenge.
4. (4) St. Anthony's (Melville, N.Y.), 16-1The Friars claimed their fifth-straight CHSAA championship by toppling Sacred Heart, 19-12.
5. (5) Century (Sykesville, Md.), 17-1The Knights won their sixth state championship with a 12-9 victory over Queen Anne's in the Class 3A/2A title game. Century has reached the state championship game nine times in the school's 10-year history.
6. (7) Maryvale Prep (Brooklandville, Md.), 13-4The Lions reached the finals of the IAAM A Conference Tournament where they gave McDonogh all it could handle in a 12-11 loss. They also scored a memorable 9-7 victory over No. 2 seed Bryn Mawr in the semifinals. They won eight straight games until bowing to McDonogh.
7. (8) Ridgewood (N.J.), 22-2Kelci Smesko had five goals and an assist as Ridgwood claimed the NJSIAA Group 4 state championship with an 18-7 conquest of Clearview Regional. The win gave the Maroons their third-straight Group IV title. They begin defense of their two Tournament of Champions titles Tuesday against Group 2's Chatham at Monmouth at 3 p.m.
8. (15) Bay Shore (N.Y.), 19-1The Marauders won the Long Island Class A championship Sunday by edging Farmingdale, 15-14, in overtime on a goal by
Kaitlyn Arnold. Bay Shore will face Section 3 champion West Genesee in the semifinals on Friday at SUNY Cortland.

(9) West Genesee (Camillus, N.Y.), 17-1 Vicki Granelin scored the tying goal with 35 seconds to play in overtime and then the game-winner with 19 seconds left as the Wildcats defeated Corning (N.Y.), 10-9, in a state Class A quarterfinal on Saturday. Corning had taken a 9-8 lead with 50 seconds left. The Wildcats advance to the state semifinals to meet the Farmingdale-Bay Shore winner at noon Friday at SUNY-Cortland.
10. (10) Chatham (N.J.), 22-2Jaclyn Leto fired in six goals,
Kelsey Perselay added five goals and an assist and
Lauren Maiorano tallied four to help the Cougars topple Red Bank Catholic, 19-6, for their third-straight NJSIAA Group 2 championship. The Cougars meet Ridgewood in the Tournament of Champions semifinals on Tuesday at Monmouth at 3 p.m.
11. (11) Vero Beach (Fla.), 21-2The Fighting Indians won their seventh-straight state title and extended their win streak over Florida opponents to 93 games with a 22-6 rout of Bishop Moore in the FHSAA final.
12. (12) St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Alexandria, Va.), 27-3The Saints capped the year with two championships, first winning the Independent School League crown with an 18-6 rout of Georgetown Visitation and then sweeping three games to claim the Virginia State Independent Tournament, capped by a 16-5 win over Bishop Ireton Saturday at Old Dominion.
13. (16) Georgetown Visitation Prep (Washington, D.C.), 20-2The Tigers fell to St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, 18-6, in the finals of the Independent School League championship.
14. (6) Farmingdale (N.Y.), 17-2The Dalers suffered a heartbreaking 15-14 overtime loss to Bay Shore in the Long Island Class A championship.

Rachel Perla each had three as the Brothers routed Owego, 21-4, in the Class C state quarterfinals. Defending state champion CBA advances to play Section 11 champion Shoreham-Wading River in the state semifinals at 9:30 a.m. Friday at SUNY-Cortland.
17. (20) Severna Park (Md.), 17-2The Falcons won their second-straight Maryland State 4A/3A championship with a 13-6 victory over Westminster.
18. (23) Radnor (Pa.), 21-4The Red Raiders advanced to the PIAA semifinals with a 20-3 rout of Cocalico.
Natalie Miller collected five goals and two assists while
Sara Curley and
Kristen Norden each had three goals and one assist. The District 1 champion Red Raiders (21-4) advance to the semifinals Tuesday to meet Central League rival Garnet Valley at Haverford High at 4 p.m. The teams split their two games this year with Radnor taking the District 1 semifinal contest.
19. (NR) Shaker (Latham, N.Y.), 17-1The Section 2 champion Blue Bison (17-1) defeated Section I champion North Rockland, 10-7, in Saturday's Class A regional final and advanced to the state tournament for the first time.
Anne Morrison had eight saves and
Annie Rehfuss tallied the game winner. Shaker also won its first sectional crown with a 9-8 triumph over previously undefeated Guilderland on a goal by
Julia Lennon with 3:29 to play
20. (14) Ward Melville (East Setauket, N.Y.), 17-2The Patriots fell to Bay Shore in the Suffolk County Class A title game, 11-5.
Yuna Hur had two goals in the defeat.
21. (NR) Garnet Valley (Glen Mills, Pa.), 22-3 Allyson Heavens scored the game-winner with 22 seconds to play, giving the Jaguars a 12-11 victory over Harriton in the PIAA quarterfinals.
Halley Barnes notched five goals and an assist for defending state champion Garnet Valley, which plays Central League rival Radnor in the semifinals Tuesday at Haverford High at 4 p.m.
22. Shoreham-Wading River (Shoreham, N.Y.), 15-3The Wildcats won the Long Island Class C championship Sunday by downing North Shore, 13-10, as
Paulina Constant and
Alex Fehmel each had three goals and an assist, and
Lauren Daly made 11 saves. They advance to the state semifinals Friday to meet Section 3 champion Christian Brothers Academy at 9:30 a.m. at the Cortland State White Field.
23. (24) Marriotts Ridge (Marriottsville, Md.), 17-1The Mustangs were stunned by arch-rival Mt. Hebron in the third round of the 3A/2A Maryland state playoffs, 10-8. The Mustangs were the District 5 champions.
24. (25) Sacred Heart Academy (Hempstead, N.Y.), 16-4The Spartans reached the finals of the Catholic High School tournament, bowing to St. Anthony's, 19-12.
25. (22) West Morris Mendham (Mendham, N.J.), 19-5The North Jersey Section 3 champion Minutemen were defeated by Moorestown in the state finals, 13-8.
