Huntington Prep's Isaiah Cottrell captured 2019-20 Suddenlink West Virginia Player of the Year honors after a terrific senior season that saw the 6-foot-9 forward average 18.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and two blocks per game.
Cottrell consistently performed at a high level for the Mountain State prep powerhouse, playing against a tough national schedule that included eight teams featured in the MaxPreps Top 25 at some point this season.
Huntington Prep competed in a number of national showcases this year, including the Chick-fil-A Classic, Cancer Research Classic, Flyin' to the Hoop Invitational, Metro Classic, ARS National Hoopfest, Bojangles Bash and Ascender Classic among others.
Cottrell is regarded as the No. 68 ranked prospect in the senior class according to 247Sports composite rankings. He's signed with West Virginia with all the tools to make an immediate impact in the Big 12 next season.
