For the third consecutive season, Katy and Manvel will play for the Region III title in Class 6A Division II.

The site will be Houston's NRG Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m.

Katy (13-0), No. 2 in the MaxPreps Texas Top 25, is a defensive powerhouse with nine shutouts in forging a 13-0 record. The Tigers are bidding to add to their state record 13 state title game appearances.

No. 7 Manvel (11-2), a rising power on the Houston scene, has scored 70 points or more in all three of its playoff games.

In the two previous matchups Katy left no doubt, winning 56-14 in 2013 and 45-17 last year.

No. 1 Allen bounced back from a narrow victory over DeSoto in a second-round playoff with a convincing 25-point win over Martin (Arlington). The Eagles, with a 56-game winning streak on the line, face No. 9 Ryan (Denton) in the Region I title game in 6A-DI.

Mitchell Jonke threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in a 36-11 triumph over Martin (Arlington).

The Tigers recorded their ninth shutout of the season in a 66-0 scalding of Friendswood. Kyle Porter rushed for three touchdowns and Garrett Doiron threw for three.

3. (3) Steele (Cibolo) 13-0
Bryson Denley rushed for 151 yards and two scores while Travell Lumpkin had 164 yards and a touchdown in the absence of injured quarterback Xavier Martin in a 28-10 victory over Del Rio.

4. (4) Lake Travis (Austin) 13-0
Maleek Barkley accounted for 200 of the Cavs' 408 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a 55-14 thumping of Midway (Waco).

5. (5) Cedar Park 13-0
Tommy Lavine and Garrett Yero scored a pair of touchdowns in a 42-0 romp over Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch).

6. (6) Judson (Converse) 12-1
Julon Williams threw for two scores and ran for two in a 45-0 blanking of Laredo United.

7. (7) Manvel 11-2
D'Eriq King threw for four touchdowns and D'Vaughn Pennamon rushed for 223 yards and three scores in a 75-14 thrashing of Strake Jesuit (Houston).

8. (8) Westlake (Austin) 12-1
Sam Ehlinger threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another in a 56-7 rout of North Mesquite.

9. (10) Ryan (Denton) 13-0
Gabriel Dougals caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Spencer Sanders with 3:12 remaining to give the Raiders the lead for good in a 41-34 triumph over Tascosa (Amarillo).

10. (11) Dickinson 12-1
Jorge Gonzalez' 29-yard field goal with 5:40 remaining sent the Gators to a 19-17 victory over Lamar (Houston). A tackle for a safety by Wayland Hurst earlier in the final quarter turned momentum.

11. (12) Mansfield (11-2)
Kennedy Brooks rushed for 267 yards and four touchdowns and linebacker Jaelon Rainey had a 38-yard interception return for a score in a 34-29 victory over Lamar (Arlington).

12. (13) Lake Ridge (Mansfield) 13-0
Jett Duffey, a Texas Tech pledge, had a combined 599 yards (452 passing) and accounted for five touchdowns in a 69-40 pounding of Poteet (Mesquite).

13. (14) George Ranch (Richmond) 13-0
Darius Anderson rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns while Antonio Jackson threw for two scores in a 48-28 bashing of Bryan.

14. (15) Atascocita (Humble) 12-1
Daveon Boyd's 21-yard touchdown pass to Coye Fairman in overtime carried the Mustangs to a 31-24 victory over Rowlett.

15. (16) Guyer (Denton) 10-3
Myron Mason rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns while Noah Cain chipped in with 155 yards and one score in a 35-27 elimination of San Angelo Central.

16. (23) Rockwall 10-3
The Yellowjackets reeled off 27 unanswered points in the final 10 minutes for a 43-26 knockout of Spring. Caleb Broach rushed for 127 yards and three scores.

17. (20) Aledo 12-1
The defense accounted for two touchdowns on interception returns by Matthew McCartney and Logan Childs and set up two more scores with turnovers in a 33-0 blanking of Cooper (Abilene).

18. (17) Ridge Point (Missouri City) 10-3
B.J. Rainford ran for 181 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-27 triumph over A&M Consolidated (College Station).

19. (22) North Shore (Houston) 10-3
Carl Guillory's second touchdown, a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter, was the difference in a 28-21 victory over Cypress Falls (Houston).

20. (25) Smithson Valley (Spring Branch) 10-3
Hyuahda Roache rushed for 93 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-20 victory over Harlingen.

21. (NR) Temple 12-1
Reid Hesse threw for 309 yards and De'Vonte Nealy rushed for 113 yards in a 27-7 elimination of Foster (Richmond).

22. (NR) Longview 11-2
Tylan Miller rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns in a 35-14 elimination of Wylie.

23. (NR) Lancaster 10-3
Spencer Gilbert II ran for two scores and Ryan Ross threw for two in a 40-21 triumph over Terrell.

24. (NR) Lone Star (Frisco) 12-1
Jason Shelley threw for three touchdowns and ran for two in a 56-7 mauling of Marshall.

25. (NR) Clemens (Schertz) 11-2
Frank Harris threw for 221 yards, rushed for 148 and had a hand in three touchdowns as the Buffaloes rolled over San Benito, 41-15.
