Katy (13-0), No. 2 in the MaxPreps Texas Top 25, is a defensive powerhouse with nine shutouts in forging a 13-0 record. The Tigers are bidding to add to their state record 13 state title game appearances.
No. 7 Manvel (11-2), a rising power on the Houston scene, has scored 70 points or more in all three of its playoff games.
In the two previous matchups Katy left no doubt, winning 56-14 in 2013 and 45-17 last year.
No. 1 Allen bounced back from a narrow victory over DeSoto in a second-round playoff with a convincing 25-point win over Martin (Arlington). The Eagles, with a 56-game winning streak on the line, face No. 9 Ryan (Denton) in the Region I title game in 6A-DI.

Spencer Sanders with 3:12 remaining to give the Raiders the lead for good in a 41-34 triumph over Tascosa (Amarillo).
10. (11) Dickinson 12-1Jorge Gonzalez' 29-yard field goal with 5:40 remaining sent the Gators to a 19-17 victory over Lamar (Houston). A tackle for a safety by
Wayland Hurst earlier in the final quarter turned momentum.
11. (12) Mansfield (11-2) Kennedy Brooks rushed for 267 yards and four touchdowns and linebacker
Jaelon Rainey had a 38-yard interception return for a score in a 34-29 victory over Lamar (Arlington).
12. (13) Lake Ridge (Mansfield) 13-0Jett Duffey, a Texas Tech pledge, had a combined 599 yards (452 passing) and accounted for five touchdowns in a 69-40 pounding of Poteet (Mesquite).

Antonio Jackson threw for two scores in a 48-28 bashing of Bryan.
